"It’s hard to guess who’s more nervous about Game of Thrones’ gradually approaching end: the fans, or HBO, which will have a devil of a time finding another drama to fill the Westeros-size hole left in viewers’ hearts (and the network’s ratings). One idea that’s been floated? A spin-off, of course. The Seven Kingdoms are vast and full of backstory—surely there’s something worth spinning into its own story. And according to HBO programming head Casey Bloys, it’s just a matter of finding “the right take with the right writer.”
